String Quartet No. 1 ("Seven Dreams")

from Senior Composition Recital by June Bash

/

about

I can’t speak for everyone, but my dreams tend to be rather sporadic and wildly varying in nature. One moment I’m fighting zombies on top of a collapsing retro-sci-fi skyscraper, the next I’m having a conversation with Jennifer Lawrence in a sewer around a drum barrel fire. Hence the movements of this piece rapidly and immediately switch between a variety of styles and textures, with themes and ideas reoccurring at surprising moments throughout.

Written late Spring 2012.
